Haryana
is the 20th State of Republic of India. It was created
on November 1, 1966 and has four divisions for administrative
purpose. These are Ambala,
Rohtak, Gurgaon and Hisar.
The State has 21 Districts (Census, 2011) and has many Colleges and Institutes
offering different training programmes in nursing. These progammes have been
enlisted district-wise along with some other relevant information.
Nursing Profession and Education
It is certainly an appropriate time to join nursing as a profession because of the opportunities for a bright future and career are tremendous. There are many options like clinical practice in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, industry and other establishments. Graduates and Post Graduates have a great potential to adopt teaching as a career. Other options are research and management and administration. Opportunities to work as a travel nurse are also gaining momentum especially in United States, Canada and some western countries as it attracts free travel, accommodation and insurance. Home care nursing is another possibility for those who do not wish to venture out.
There is great demand of nursing personnel in India and abroad. Registered nurses are required to function in various areas of specializations like orthopedic, psychiatric, labour and delivery etc.
